Hi guys, I would like to ask for some assistance
Theres lots of posts on migrating and moving that i have found to be quite informative, but im not sure i can find one i can use. There seems to be too many and im not sure I can narrow them down enough to perform the simple task i have at hand
Is the following scenario possible? I have to empty red 3TB hdds for data stores
1 - Install vmworkstation on my old desktop machine and copy all the files from my desktop to a New VM located on the desktop (drag and drop method in worstation, into datastores on the 2 Red hdds.)
2 - Create a VM on my server (HP N54L) via esxi/vsphere
3 - remove the 2 HDDs from the desktop machine, put them in the N54L and re-instate the data stores made in step 1
my basic need is simply for a media server
