Unable to open Web Console in vCenter 6.7U3 HTML Client.

 

"Launch Web Console" as well as "Launch remote Console" options get a pop-up windows "Open VMware Remote Console Option?" with 2 options available: "Open VMware Remote Console" and "Cancel", see print-screen below.

From ESXi hosts web-interface can choose and open both: Web-Console and Remote Console.

Getting Service unavailable Error while deploying multilanguage OVA

I am working on multilanguage of OVF and followed below documents for same.

I am able to generate ova successfully but am getting an error(PFA screenshots Error in chinese, Error in english) while deploying the ova.

 

I created two message files and one ovf descriptor which looks as shown below

I am getting below error when I deploy the ova

I have uploaded screenshots of error as well as contents of ova.

Please suggest if I am missing something.

Anyone go from VCAP 5.5 to 6.5?

Greetings, I could not find a better forum to ask but I'm sure someone will correct me.

 

I have my 5.5 VCAP-DCA after one month of studying via Pluralsight. I'm looking to upgrade to 6.5 without too much effort but don't know if the format has changed.

 

Can someone whose done both point out the differences so I can better prepare without wasting too much time?

Example:

1) I'm assuming the vsphere-client (thick client) is no longer used. Do they expect you to use both the web client or HTML5?

2) What did they remove i.e. autodeploy, vsphere replication etc

3) What did they add i.e VSAN.

4) Assuming the troubleshooting is still wrapped up within the tasks?

Using vSphere API, can a host be added directly to an LACP lag instead of first adding vmnic to uplink port group?

I am using the ruby VMWare api, and I have successfully reconfigured host to use the LACP lag I have created, but I had to add my host to the distributed virtual switch via the regular uplink port, and then reconfigure to use the lag.  Via the UI I am able to add my host directly to the lag without this intermediate step.  Is there a way to do this direct add of a host to a virtual distributed switch by adding its vmnic directly to the lacp lag I have created?

[help] ESXI 6.7 U2 failed with pcie gpu pass through

I'v been stuck in pcie gpu passthrough for some days and need help here.

I followed several posts to set up the pcie gpu passthrough step by step and all got failure.

After pass through both pcie devices, the vm-win10 would powered off after booted.

From the vmware.log file, I found such log "PCI passthru device 0000:04:00.1 caused an IOMMU fault type 12 at address 0x106536000.  Powering off the virtual machine."

 

I have followed the key points: reserve all the guest memory, add parameter "hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = “FALSE”", but failed to boot the system.

I have no idea about next step now.

Looking forward to kind help.

Horizon View Agent 7.10 ohne Horizon Connection Server

Hallo Community,

 

ich arbeite mich seit einiger Zeit in das Thema Virtualisierung von IT-Infrastruktur ein und konnte aktuell folgendes Setup aufsetzen:

 

2 ESXi Server in einem Verbund

oberlagert eine vCenter Server Applicance

 

Auf meiner Testumgebung laufen 2 Win2k16Srv und aktuell 1 Test Win10 Client.

 

Soweit so gut, aktuell versuche ich mich nun an Horizon View, damit der Win7 Client später über Horizon View angezeigt werden kann. Ziel ist es, die Clients direkt ohne Verwendung eines Horizon View Servers anzusprechen - gem. meinen Recherchen (here) sollte das ja mit VMware Agent + Direct Connect gehen. Dafür versuche ich, auf dem Win10 (nach den VMWareTools) VMware Horizon Agent 7.10 zu installieren.

 

Problem
Bei der Installation von VMWare Horizon View muss ich zwingend einen ConnectionServer installieren - wie kann ich dies umgehen?

Extending partition size of all VMs in a VNF in a batch mode.

We want to resize and increase a partition size inside all VMs of a VNF, without editing vm settings individually using vsphere as below,

Please note these VMs are already deployed and we dont prefer to undeploy the VMs to make these changes.

 

We are looking at ways to mass-administer the VMs in bulk. Is there any VMware tool that helps to achieve this as a bulk operation without editing individual VM settings to resize the partition ?

Drag and drop inside a windows app

Hi all, I am new here and I just started using Vmware Horizon client at my office. We have an issue with one of our in-house applications and I need to point our Vmware team where and what to look to fix it.

 

We have a custom windows application using Infrgistics's controls like the grid and tabs, running on the Vmware horizon client. Everything is working fine but when we try to use the drag and drop features for things like reordering the columns in the grid or moving one tab to a different place within the application it doesn't work. The actual drag and drop starts when you hold the left click and start dragging but it immediately stops. It looks like if the application didn't "holds" (in lack of a better word) the mouse, as one little window appears on the taskbar and immediately disappears.

 

I know drag and drop inside the client are enabled because I can do it in other applications like word and excel.

 

Is there any setting on the server or the client to enable this? It works if we run the same application inside on the browser

But, My server memory become full and crashed:

How to share Org VDC Network with the other VDCs on VCD 10?

Hi,

 

I'm using VCD 10 integrated with NSX-T 2.5. As far I see, I can't share org VDC network with other Virtual Data Centers within the same organization. There is no any option to do it. I guess the reason is VCD is integrated with the NSX-T. Because, I can share the networks on VCD 9.5 which integrated with the NSX-V.

 

Is that possible for my case ? Is this option in the roadmap on the future or deprecated ?

Vcenter and Esxi Health check Status report via email

Hi,

Anybody has the powershell script to get the Vcenter and Esxi hosts health status which includes esxi active status, alarms, resource utilization, datastore utilization and any critical events on the vcenter server.

 

Please let me know if anybody can help on this.

move vMotion traffic along vSAN

Hi,

 

Objective:

Currently vMotion is attached to the vmkernel used by the Management traffic on a standard switch which only has 1 Gbit/s uplinks.

Aim is to move the vMotion traffic to start using the 10 Gbit/s uplinks (which are currently in use by vSAN as Active/Standby)

 

Steps:

Create a new VLAN and respective network (ex: /24)

Allow/add the newly created vLAN on the hosts uplinks switchport trunks

 

On the Distributed Switch in use by vSAN having 2 uplinks (1 active and 1 standby)

Create a new distributed portgroup to be used by vMotion

Attach the portgroup to the newly created VLAN that will be dedicated to vMotion

Set the Teaming and Failover to use the vSAN standby adapter as its Active Uplink with the remaining one set as Standby (reverse order)

 

On each host in the cluster

Add a vmkernel adapter

Select the newly created distributed portgroup

Tick the vMotion as Enabled Services

Set an IPv4 address

Finish

 

Repeat the above (add distributed portgroup per cluster and vmkernel adapter for each host)

 

For each cluster distributed switch in use by vSAN, in NIOC change vSAN traffic from 50 to 100 (Leave all else as default)

 

Once all done, remove vMotion traffic from the Management vmkernel

 

 

Do you think the above steps are correct/complete as plan is to do this on a live environment? (DRS is disabled on all clusters so no VM migrations expected)

Any tests you can recommend (other then trying to migrate some VM's) to proof all configuration is correct/working?

 

Welcome any thoughts/suggestions.

Hi,

 

I want to create a list with all VM´s where the MAx Reservation of RAM is enabled and Locked

 

I just have this and i´m able to to a where with reservation like 0, but i need vm´s whith ram locked enabled as well

And I guess something is wrong with my if else or? How can i dot the exit better? :-)

Need inputs and suggestions on the Workspace one Automation released in 1910.

 

  • How reliable is it for integrating it with the ServiceNow ITSM ticketing tool?
  • Can we use it for creating tickets whenever there is an incident observed?

 

Trying to push the use of Automation over other PC doctor tools available in the market. Any suggestions or inputs are highly appreciated.

DEM 9.9 Not importing registry settings to 1809 w/ FSLogix

I have a registry file that enables modern auth and some other Office 365 related registry settings.

 

This reg file imports perfectly in a 1803 and 1809 images when using AppVolumes. We want to test FSlogix to see if it will provide a better experience using the O365 Containers for OneDrive/Teams in place of Writable Volumes.

 

In our 1809 image with FSlogix the registry settings are not being applied even though in the log file it says the registry file is imported successfully. Anyone see something like this before?
