For some day I get WTG boot from VMware Fussion 8.0.1 (and 8.1) but I'm going crazy last week I CAN'T get boot from USB Windows To Go

Several chances and no way. But I don't know what is doing wrong

1) Get WTG 7 and 10 booting UEFI in Mac Mini 2012. Getting right without VMware, just hardware

2) Following tutorial http://blog.vmote.net/?p=1288 get at first time boot USB EFI (both Windows 7 and Windows 10 even W10 updated from W7)

3) I got an automate boot just waiting for some seconds and it looks reliable

Suddenly it stop working and never more. From now I only get firmware recognize  USB but it advise that its no a bootable OS

I format again the USB and made as new ... but no way

I delete VM machine ... but no way

I uninstall VMware Fussion ... but no way

I've tried with 8.0.1 and 8.1 ... but no way

When it recognize the USB it doesn't boot

But if I reboot my machine it works like a charm

Having same issue with Win7 client. Finder was getting hung up, and once started, Fusion could not be flushed from system- reboot was required.  I tried a new copy of 8.1.0, but no luck.

After fighting for a day using archives of the vmx (assuuming it and been damaged) , I reverted to the 8.0.0 Fusion app. This fixed the resume hanging and "Could not find a valid peer process to connect to". 

On mac Pro early 2009, 32 GB, quad core 3.2Mhz. Yosemite 10.10.5

Think twice before allow this upgrade. On 8.0 everything worked great and smooth for me. After upgrade to 8.1 the running Windows are about twice slower than before, and what worse, Window are not able to connect to Internet anymore. None of the network option works, Windows always says "not internet access" or even not network connection. I reinstalled the vmware tools, restarted, rebooted...

I'm running Win 7, 64 bit freshly installed on freshly installed El Capitan on Mac Book Pro (not very fresh one...).

I hope I will not loose the license after reinstalling back the old 8.0 and no more upgrades, never more...

I have been researching design.  I need to have a single DVswitch across the environment, (need single managment control plane for VLAN creation / migration etc..).

I have moved all my hosts to 2 x 10Gb per host.  I have SOME need for 10Gb.  I use FCOE or FC for primary block, but iSCSI for migrations and copy data.

I tried to follow various guides to get iSCSI software initiator to bind to dedicated VMKernel for iSCSI only.  THis connects to what is now a LACP uplink to our Brocade VDX fabric.

This article implies that if I would NOT do LACP, but set seperate 10Gb to each port group within DV switch I could fix the issue.. but it did change that it would not allow me to bind iSCSI when more then one uplink in single DV Switch

I would prefer to have a single logical 20Gb NIC and bind iSCSI to that with dedicated VMK

1) Can I bind to LACP within single DV switch and get iSCSI to bind to VMkernel?

2) If I can't get the above, what step am I doing wrong to get two uplinks within single DV Switch with ISCSI bound to each uplink / nic port

Any other links / guides that consolidate the process and provide vSphere 6 focus instructions.  The issue is that there is a lot of banter, but much is old and so lots of notes about it "should work" but trying to get it to work has not been very easy.

I'm running vCenter Server 5.5 and ESXi 5.5 hosts.  Both are Update 3a, patched to the 201510001 release, which is build 3116895.  I am planning the upgrade to Update 3B (Build 3248547) and I'm a little confused on the SSLv3 issue.

I am wondering if this point below from ESXi55 U3b & VC 55U3b Known Issues applies to my config:

ESXi does not get automatically added to vCenter Server inventory
If you update a previous version of vCenter Server and vSphere Update Manager to ESXi to 5.5 Update 3b, then after remediation task, ESXi does not get automatically added to VC inventory. Remediation process never gets completed and ESXi connection status in VC inventory is shown as disconnected.Workaround: When ESXi is rebooted after remediate process is started, enable SSLv3 on ESXi (which is disabled by default). This will make sure ESXi gets added to VC inventory automatically in few minutes and Remediation as completed.

If I am reading things correctly, upgrading vCenter Server to 3B first, and then upgrading the ESXi hosts, will prevent the issues with lost communication.  Can someone confirm?

This is not a "request for support" but in the interest of helping VMware engineers find problems, and knowing full well Win 10 is beta software...

We are attempting to configure our new VROPs 6.0 environment using best practices however there are some additional questions. 

We have gone into Administration --> Authentication sources and added our domain as one of the authentication sources.   Then I go to Access control --> groups --> import group.  I am able to import the group, however when I add/remove members to the group I do not see the membership changes reflected.

Question 1 - Shouldn't the group membership sync automatically with AD when users are added or removed?

Secondly, I am able to log in using my DOMAIN\username account after selecting DOMAIN.local as my authentication source.  When go to Access control --> User account I see 5 accounts (FIVE accounts!).  Four list the source type as Virtual Center - VC and the last one has the source time of Virtual Center group.

Question 2 - Are ANY of these accounts the one I'm actually logged in to?  Which account is the one I should be granting permissions to?  Can I safely delete the others?

Fresh build and installation of vCenter 6u1.   Single AD environment.  Basic setup of nodes migrated from working and existing vCenter 6 (windows installation) into this new installation (aka AD works and is working with other vCenter 6 still).

When I login, I get "no inventory"

When I add a user from AD it give me rights (aka AD working), so it is some kind of group permission issue.

Nothing I see in logs to guide to help debug this.  Any ideas?

I keep getting "Error 29163. Could not copy file c:\windows\temp\converter-agent.xml.", and the installation process is rolled back.

My pcis a freshly installed Win7 64bit, and I'm trying to install latest vwersion of Converter (VMware-converter-en-6.0.0-2716716.exe) in standalone mode.

I did read a lot of information but I don't see any answer to my problem. I have a remote server where I installed the ESXI 6.0. I have no problem to connect with the VMWare client . It uses the 443 port to connect remotely. I want to install PFSense to act a firewall with all other hosts that I want o install. The problem is that I HAVE ONLY ONE PUBLIC IP CONNECTED TO THE PHISICAL ADAPTER. I don't know how to create somehow virtual router that connect to this network adapter and use the DHCP to the other machines. As I did read I have to create the second switch with no card because I do not have another card connected to a router. This card exists but not connected with any other machine.

Any Idea?

I am having inconsistent behavior with unity apps. Snipping tool, internet explorer work as expected. Outlook, excel, will show up in full screen mode but I cannot see the window once I enter into unity mode. Those are the only apps I have tested with. None of them show up in the dock. This broke after I changed the domain of my main user profile.

Things I've tried:

Removing spaces

Reinstalling VMWare Tools

Restarting VM and OS X

Changing Isolation functions

What else should I try?

I have a vRO workflow which I have integrated in vRA as a ASD workflow. The workflow stops at an user interaction. Some of the values in the presentation field are predefined values, that are generated after the workflow starts and loadedi nto the presentation.

When I try to answer the user interaction, the vRA GUI starts to load the fields, but shortly after starting I get the error:

The vRO workflow validation shows no errors, I can run it just fine with the vRO client. When I completely remove the predefined values, the presentation GUI loads the Summary and description fields of the Manual User Interaction, however this end with an error as well after a short time.

Any ideas? Does it have to do with a timeout when loading the presentation?

I have a Windows XP SP3 virtual machine running on a Windows 7 32bit host with 8 monitors. Everytime I reboot, I have to click the cycle multiple monitors button over a dozen times to get my preferred layout.

Is there a way to set a default so that I don't have to cycle through all the layouts on each restart? If not, is there a hot-key combination for the button so that I don't have to follow the top menu bar all over the place to continue to click the cycle multiple monitors button? I read several posts about the same issue, but have not seen a solution yet.
