VMware Workstation 8 delay after resume from sleep

I am using VMware Workstation 8.06 on Windows 7 x64 (both guest and host). Every time I wake the computer from sleep, whether I put it to sleep using VMware or the computer put itself to sleep by the timeout in Windows (2 hours), it takes a very long time for the machine to become responsive. This time varies a lot but is around 30 minutes. My host machine also becomes very slow to respond during this period. The CPU is not maxed out, in fact most cores are running around 10 or 20 percent and there are a few GB of RAM still left. I notice that during these times when the VM will not respond (the screen is either frozen or black) that the RAM in the host will go up and down just a bit, probably by several MB. Enough to notice on the graph.

Has anyone experienced this? I have searched the KB and it reported no documents on this topic.

Thanks, Joe
