Good morning all,
I am currently a VMware administrator for my company and have been working with the datacenter product for 5 years. I am certified on vSphere 5 (VCP5-DV). My company is tossing around the idea of purchasing vCloud Director and Horizon View the last quarter of this year. We are running Proof of Concepts of both. I will have the first choice of picking which product to lead into our production environment.
On a personal level, I am torn between which product to take the lead on. My decision will be based not only on my company needs but also on career advancement, growth and future employment possibilities.
The million dollar questions are:
- Which product has the most market share currently?
- Which product has the most potential for future growth in the market?
- Most importantly, Which product has the higher potential for future employment opportunities?
I know these may be difficult questions to answer but I am curious as to what the other VMware Admins\Engineers are seeing in the industry.
